Morris Rose

Morris Rose, the son of the emigrant from Russia, was the outstanding general-major. He was born in 1899 in Connecticut. His third armourtank division distinguished oneself during the battles in North Africa. It advanced in the vanguard of union troops during the operation and it ended for capitulation of Italian-German group in Tunis. This troop landed in the first group of descent in Sicily and Normandy. After liberation of France the Rose’s division went to German border one of the first divisions and broke Zigfrid’s line. General Rose encircled and forced to surrender German parts. He took more than eight thousand people and three generals as prisoners. He wasn’t afraid of danger. This great general often took part in the attacks. He died in April 1945 in Arden. Morris Rose is a national hero of America. Streets and schools in Connecticut are called by his name. The monument to the general was put in Denver.
