 НАЗАД Omar Nelson Bradly

          Omar N. B. was born in February 12, 1893 in Clark, Missouri. After leaving school Bradly entered Military Academy of the USA “Vest Point”. He had graduated it in 1915 as an officer. Bradly was rising in his profession during of two wars. He was superintendent of Infantry specialized school “Fort Benning”, Georgia at the beginning of World War. After the active developing of army Brandly became commanding officer of the 82nd infantry division then of the 28th infantry division. In 1942 he was appointed as commander of American corps which had to take part in military operations in the North of Africa. His corps, being included in 1st English Army, operated on the right flank of army. Had been lacking of combat experience of many soldiers of the beginning led to unpleasant situations German often attacked exactly in the sector of this corps. So in Tunis, Rommel concentrate the 21st and 10th tank division he threw their against of the American corps. In region Fide divisions could break through the American’s defenses, then Germans rushed to the breach and armored division was crushed. However situation had changed in May English began attack on the 5th of May, but Americans had second role. American corps seized Bizert on the 7th of May. After the rout of enemies of Tunis groupings the corps took part in invasion of Sassily. Bradly was moved to England in 1944 where together with other officers under the common leadership of Montgomery took part in elaboration of the plan of invasion to France. Then Brandly was an army commander of the 1st American army (the first echelon of American expeditionary force). And the highly promotion was come. Brandly was appointed as a commander of the 12th group army of the USA, which united the1st, 3d, 9th, 15thAmerican army. His groups of army passed the way from French coast to Czechoslovakia and German, and Brandly remained as a commander up to the end of the war. After the war Brandly was concerned with problems of war-veterans (1945-1947) then he was appointed the chief of staff land forces. After the retirement in 1953 he began to work as a businessman. In 1951 he began to write a book “The soldier’s history” which was published in 1983.
