On June, 22, 1941 fascist Germany without declaration of war has
suddenly attacked Soviet Union . Millions Soviet citizens have gone to battle for the Native land. Each person was ready to offer a life to help the Native land.
Such hero, whose fighting glory was born in 1942 in fierce fights near Moscow with fascist aggressors where he has arrived with volunteers, veins in the far Siberian city of Barabinsk and worked in locomotive depot. The great Siberian railway passes though the city of Barabinsk . The locomotive depot in the recent past was the striding enterprise of our school. We would like to tell about this person.
But all under the order. By the end of 1941 Barabinsk developed quickly enough. It was rear, small city with 30 thousand inhabitants. To be at war with the enemy left11 thousand city dwellers.
And at the end of 1941 the Order of the State committee of defense and peoples committee means of communication offered to construct 5 armored trains to Omsk railway. One of them in Barabinsk. By the chief of construction the head of locomotive depot K.N. Golikov, the engineer – the chief engineer of depot K.N. Veryovkin, master – K.P. Mersner has been authorized.
The armored train should consist from armored steam-engine and four armoured-platform, equipped with 76-millimetric guns and large-caliber machine guns. Never workers of depot were engaged in such work, but war learns quickly. And on November, 23, 1941 in the depot of Nowodalneje have been made average repair of a steam locomotive of a series 0B №5744 and four 18-ton platforms. In short term full modernization of a part of crew of a steam locomotive, replacement of locomotive axes by more powerful have been made in view of increase in loading after the armour will put on. In intense work has imperceptibly flown by 3 months, and the armored train for the first time leaves a gate of depot. On the tender of its steam locomotive the inscription is made by artist P.V. Pomanskij: “Siberian – Barabinez”.
At the end of February “Siberian – Barabinez” left depot finally, it left to protect Moscow . With him there leaved engine - drineris - volunteers A.L. Volzhanin, N.S. Chernov, V.F. Litvinov and senior engine-driver P.K. Mjalitsyn.
“The victory or death!” – under such slogan Peter Konstantinovich conducted the crew of an armored train, blocking a way to fascists.
Fights have shown, that with an armored train from Barabinsk on front there have gone the true professionals. Recollects P.K. Mjalitsyn: “Once have received the order to support artillery fire infantry. But suddenly during long fight brakes have given up. Captain Mashinsky has ordered to me to remove malfunction urgently. A problem not from easy, but long-termexperience of ergine-driver has helped. Fighting calculation continued fight.” But once Peter Konstantinovich has literally rescued an armored train and his command. And happened that. Stokerduring the moment dearing of furanse a steam locomotive has found out, that grid-irons stand an edge. The trouble consist that between a lattice of furanse and a grid-iron the big piece of extinguish only fire in furanse . and it means to stop an armored train along the line, to be a target for Germans who have already noticed an armored train and have begun bombardment. Time for reflections and meditations was not. Commander Mjalitsyn has ordered subordinated to pour his water from a head up to foots.
And further it is even more terrible. Present, as the young man suffices a take hammer and through the aperture of funanse climbs in fich. For courage brave engine-driver has been awarded with the Native land an award of the Red Banner. There were also ather episodes on a military way of the soldier. Not without reason his breast on parade of a victory over Moscow , in which P. K. Mjalitsyn participated in structure a shelf from the Karelian Front, decorated medals “For services in battle”, “For courage”. Truly people speak: “People which has given birth to soch heroes to win it is impossible.”
